The Hampton Fire Company would like to send a resounding THANK YOU for supporting our construction project. The new building has the capabilities to take on the most modern techniques and equipment, while repairing the roof and deteriorating siding and allowing for much needed storage. Our hope and plan is to have an open house when we hold our annual Ham & Bean Dinner, tentatively in April or May.
If you have ever been a part of a large construction task such as this, you know that there are always hidden “issues” along the way. We hit our fair share, but were able to work them out between ourselves and the contractors rather than turn to the town. The members of the Fire Company chose to do most of the interior building and remodeling ourselves to save on costs. You may have seen several vehicles in our parking lot belonging to those who are volunteering their time to get the job done. We’ve also been spending our own funds to complete the project. In appreciation of our work, a very generous anonymous donor will match up to $25,000 in donations we receive from now until April 15, 2019. We have always felt the support of our towns’ people and hope that support will continue when that support can be doubled. All donations can be sent to our treasurer: Dale DeMontigny; 229 Station Rd.; Hampton, Ct.; 06247. We are extremely grateful to this anonymous donor and would like them to know that their generosity will help us to continue our service to the Town of Hampton.
In addition to our anonymous donor, we have registered our Fire Company with AmazonSmile. Never heard of AmazonSmile? Neither did we but we’re sure glad we did. AmazonSmile works to give back .5% of the price of any eligible AmazonSmile purchase to the charity of the purchaser’s choice. The next time you buy something on Amazon, please consider going to https://smile.amazon.com and logging in with your current Amazon user name and password. You can then choose your charity of choice, but we hope you’ll pick Hampton Fire Co., Inc.
We have always appreciated the community. As we come up on our 90th anniversary of operation, we hope to feel the continued support of our town and its people. Yes, you read that right; Hampton Fire Company was founded in 1929.
